Third Sunday of Lent

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ

It is never popular to talk about sinfulness today.

Why? Well, if we acknowledge that we have ‘missed the mark’; that we have committed sin; that we have said “no” to God and offended our neighbour – then we are admitting that we need to change. And human beings are never comfortable with change.

First Sunday of Lent

Dear brother and sisters in Christ,

Lent is a time when we are encouraged to reflect on our need for God when we are asked to practice the three traditional actions of Prayer, Fasting and Alms giving; when we are advised to celebrate the healing gift of God to us all called the Sacrament of Penance or Reconciliation.

Lenten prayer intention

Lent is a penitential season of prayer, self denial and helping others. In this way the whole church prepares for Easter with those who are to be baptised. During Fridays in Lent we are expected to do some penitential act, e.g abstaining from meat is one of the options.

Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ

Fr. Suresh Kumar is leaving us after 5 years of ministry here as both Assistant Priest and then as Priest-in-Residence while he worked full time as Director of Youth for the Diocese. Suresh will be heading to the parish of Winston Hills this weekend. We wish him all the best as he commences a new chapter in his life - and we will farewell him in style soon.
