Introduction
Music for funeral liturgies at St Patrick’s Cathedral should reflect the sacred nature of the occasion and the dignity of the Cathedral as the seat of the diocesan bishop. Selections must be appropriate for Catholic liturgy and uphold the Church’s guidelines on sacred music.
The Cathedral Music Department is available to assist in choosing suitable music and arranging musicians, such as organists, cantors, or choir members. If external musicians are requested, they must meet required standards and follow liturgical norms.
